What is Healthy Beginnings?
Healthy Beginnings is a free case management program focusing on minority women
of childbearing age and their families (including partner) living in Forsyth County.
Healthy Beginnings provides a support system throughout pregnancy and during the
first two years of their child’s life. Families will receive one-on-one care management
to help make the pregnancy and the beginning years with their child a healthy, enjoyable
experience. Additionally, this program is unique in that each participant will have
a monthly contact with educational parenting groups called "Meet-ups" and at least
two home visits per year. The program focuses on the following areas for the family’s
reproductive life span:
- Folic Acid Consumption
- Reproductive Health
- Nutrition and Exercise
- Baby Safety
- Child development

Healthy Families; Healthier Communities Advisory Board - What is the Healthy Families;
Healthier Communities Advisory Board?
The Healthy Families; Healthier Communities Advisory Board’s mission is to reduce
infant mortality rates and improve the health among minority families within Forsyth
County through the support of the Healthy Beginnings case management programs’ goals
and objectives. Our Advisory Board also serves as a valuable resource to connect
men with services or agencies within the community.
Who can join the team?
Any professional or individual who possess an interest in supporting fatherhood
development, reducing infant mortality rates and improving the health and wellness
of families within Forsyth County. We also welcome any father within the community
to join in order to provide awareness of issues and share experiences of fatherhood.
