Child Support
Child Support Enforcement provides the services of locating the absent parent, establishing
paternity and a support obligation, collecting support and enforcing court orders
for support. Medical insurance or coverage is a part of the support obligation.
When an absent parent lives outside of North Carolina, Child Support workers in
cooperation with other states work to establish paternity and support in these cases.
These services are provided to all Work First Family Assistance recipients and are
available to county residents upon application and payment of a nominal fee.
