Tuskegee Airmen: They Fought Two Wars documentary

In honor of Black History Month, please join us Tuesday, February 27th at 11 am or 6:30 pm as we view Tuskegee Airmen: They Fought Two Wars, a documentary produced by PBS Paramount. This inspiring documentary examines the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the U.S. Army Air Corps—the Tuskegee Airmen. These 450 black men fought the Nazis in World War II and, back in America, they fought prejudice, bigotry, and racism. Brief discussion to follow. (NR)

Chasing Coral Movie Screening and Discussion

Come watch a screening of the documentary Chasing Coral at the Lewisville Branch Library on Thursday, March 22 at 3:30 PM and stay after for a discussion of the issues surrounding our coral reefs. Follow up discussion will be facilitated by Miles Silman, Andrew Sabin Family Foundation Professor of Conservation Biology and Director of the Center for Energy, Environment, and Sustainability at Wake Forest University. Chasing Coral is an Exposure Labs Production.

Blind Date with a Book for Children and Teens at the Lewisville Branch Library

Pick up a wrapped book from the children or teen display areas at the Lewisville Branch Library from February 1-14 and take it home with you. It will be a surprise when you unwrap it! Tell us what you liked about the book by filling out the Rate-a-Date slip included in each one. For each Rate-a-Date slip that you return back to the Lewisville Branch Library by March 14th, 2018 you will be entered into a drawing for a $5.00 Barnes & Nobel Gift Card.
