Arboretum
Shelters must be reserved at least 2 weeks in advance. Due to necessary preparation,
we cannot accommodate requests for reservations less than 2 weeks prior to an event.
To many, the park's Arboretum and Fragrance Garden represents a true measure of Tanglewood's natural and striking beauty. The magnificent Arboretum, nestled behind Tanglewood's historic Manor House, is a public garden. It contains diverse collections of native flora, herbs, and many other landscape materials which are planted and maintained for the education of landscape professionals, area youth and adults, as well as the enjoyment of residents and visitors of Piedmont North Carolina.
The Arboretum at Tanglewood also provides an enchanting and picturesque setting for weddings, receptions and community gatherings throughout the year. Today, the arboretum is carefully maintained by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service with assistance from the Forsyth County Master Gardeners. At any given time, there are at least 75-100 different varieties of plants blooming.

You can add a carriage ride to your wedding by calling the Tanglewood Stables at (336) 766-9540.

Chairs are not provided and must be rented from an outside company.

Extension cords are not provided.

Furniture from the Manor House may not be used in the Arboretum.

There is no lighting in the Arboretum so activities should end before dark.

All rented items must be dropped off and picked up by rental agency on the day of your event. No items may be left overnight.

Renter may not move, trim, pull up, etc. plants in the Arboretum. Each instance will result in an additional fee being charged.

No birdseed or rice are allowed. Each instance will result in an additional clean-up fee being charged.

There is an additional fee for tents placed in Arboretum area, and fire permits may be required.

If alcohol is served, renter must provide Tanglewood with a certificate of Liquor Liability Insurance.

No rain dates are available.

In order to effectively provide service excellence to our customers, the Tanglewood
Park's Marketing and Events Office requires appointments to be set up by clients
in order to view rental facilities. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in this
process. Scheduled appointments will allow us to better serve our customers as it
correlates with our professional standards that we strive to provide for citizens,
customers, vendors and contractors. Thank you for selecting us for your event needs!
Appointments must be scheduled during the following times:
- Mondays: 8:00 am - 10:00 am
- Wednesdays: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Thursdays: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
