National park ranger Wesley Gant will present a talk on international volunteer travel on Tuesday, March 12 at 6 p.m. at the Walkertown Branch Library. Attendees will learn about different volunteer travel opportunities and how international volunteering can provide a more rewarding, immersive and enjoyable experience than traditional tourist trips.
Meet Author Debbie Barr and learn how to communicate love to a person with dementia. She will talk about her book “Keeping Love Alive as Memories Fade: The 5 Love Languages and the Alzheimer's Journey” on Saturday, March 2, at 10:30 a.m. at the Walkertown Branch Library. Barr is the author of two books about Alzheimer’s disease.
Come to a Free Yoga class at the Walkertown Branch Library. For all levels of fitness Bring your exercise mat, a small blanket or a beach towel. Every Thursday in February, 3:30 p.m. at the Walkertown Branch Library. Evening classes are coming in March. The instructor is Lisa Kushner.
A Spanish class for adults will be held at Walkertown Branch Library every Wednesday, 6 - 7 p.m. for Advanced students and 7 - 8 p.m. for Beginners. Susan Moretz, an experienced ESL and Spanish instructor, will be leading the class.
Instructor Mark Fleming will teach an ongoing tai chi class for adults every Friday at 10 a.m. beginning on March 1st. Tai Chi is a low impact exercise that has many benefits, including decreased stress and improved flexibility. This class is sponsored by Friends of the Walkertown Library.
Singer-songwriters Steve Bonham from Great Britain and Rob McHale from North Carolina will be performing a joint concert on Tuesday, March 19 at 6:30 p.m. “Looking for America” will explore different perspectives of the American experience through song. This event is sponsored by the Walkertown Area Historical Society.
