Sensory-Friendly Programs

FORSYTH COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY'S SENSORY-FRIENDLY NEWSLETTER

Forsyth County Public Library's Sensory-Friendly Newsletter is designed for families with children, teens and adults with sensory issues. The programs, books, craft and community support groups will help families find programs and information geared toward this community.

Thank you for subscribing and viewing the bimonthly Sensory-Friendly Newsletter. Moving forward, the Sensory-Friendly Newsletter will be published on a quarterly basis. The issues will be made available in January, April, July, and October. Check back often on this webpage for any news and upcoming events in between issues.

All in-person programs at all branches are limited until further notice due to COVID-19 concerns. We will reschedule and resume in-person programs when it is prudent to do so and as our schedule allows. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please call your branch if you have any questions.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS:

Crafternoons

  • Jan. 10-15, Feb. 7-12, March 14-19.

Paddison Memorial Branch Library: 248 Harmon Ln., Kernersville, N.C. 27284

Kids and teens can pick up a DIY Crafternoon To-Go kit at the Paddison Memorial Branch Library during select weeks in January (Jan. 10-15), February (Feb. 7-12) and March (March 14-19) .The kit for kids is recommended for ages 4 to 11, and the teen kit is designed for ages 12 to 18. Weekly Craft Kits

  • Mondays, during library hours

Southside Branch Library: 3185 Buchanan St., Winston-Salem, N.C. 27127

Numbers-of-the-Week Kits and Letter-of-the-Week Craft Kits will be available for pickup at the Southside Branch Library. There will be a new set of numbers or letters every Monday. Work your way through the numbers 1-100 with your child or through the alphabet. Packets include a simple craft, activity sheets, and cut-out numbers or letters. Free, no registration necessary. Recommended for ages 5 years and younger. Please contact Jamall Grice at 336-703-2982 for more information.


After School Fun at Carver

  • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 3 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Carver School Road Branch Library: 4915 Lansing Dr., Winston-Salem, N.C. 27105

Join us as we offer up a selection of crafts, puzzles, games and movies which are sure to cure the after-school blues. Activities are for all ages. If you have any questions, please call 336-703-2913 or email leonarzl@forsyth.cc.


Virtual Preschool Crafts

  • Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m.

Click here to register.

Join us each week on Wednesdays for a virtual preschool craft demonstration. All crafts will require the following: scissors, glue (stick or liquid), tape, pen or marker. A limited amount of pre-assembled supply kits will be available for pickup at the Clemmons Branch Library (6365 James St., Clemmons, N.C. 27012).
