Dance on the 64 Squares: An Introduction to Chess

Chess lovers, young and old, new and advanced, join us for an engaging event with a Chess Federation expert! The Popular Materials Department presents Dance on the 64 Squares: An Introduction to Chess. You are warmly invited to attend a lecture on the basics of chess and the history of the game. Some chess challenges and chess trivia will be reviewed by Tony Sanders, Chess Coach.

Enjoy a simultaneous exhibition after the lecture. United States Chess Federation Chess Expert, Matt Helfst will perform a simultaneous chess exhibition. The auditorium will be set up in a Horseshoe Form with the Chess Expert playing all players as he moves around the room. Test your skills and meet other chess players.

*Bring your chessboard along if you have one.*

Light refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Terri Bonow at bonowtl@forsythlibrary.org or call 703-3064.
