Girls With A Purpose Receives Best Buy Grant

Girls With A Purpose, a program designed to help build self-esteem in girls ages 11-17, has received a grant from Best Buy's Children's Foundation in the amount of $3,000. The grant will help to fund programming for the 2012-2013 school year. The grant will be used to purchase a dedicated PC for ease of access to databases and websites designed with young girls in mind. Journals, books, and workbooks will be purchased for the girls, and in addition, used for speakers and workshops.

We invite young girls to the Carver School Road Branch Library the fourth Wednesday of each month from 5:30-6:30pm. Information professionals from local agencies and organizations are prepared to help these young girls access current and accurate information to help them make good life decisions. For more information please contact the Carver School Road Branch Library at 336-703-2910.
