SWAT Team Attends Competition at the N. C. Justice Academy

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team competed in the 2012 SWAT Competition at the NC Justice Academy in Salemburg, NC on November 6-8, 2012. The team competed in nine events with two 3rd place finishes. The 3rd place finishes were in the events of Over-Pressure and the Pistol Shoot-Off that both emphasize pistol shooting speed and accuracy.

SWAT consists of sworn deputies that work in a variety of assignments within the Sheriff’s Office and volunteer as members of the tactical team. SWAT members receive additional training in areas such as police sniper/observer, breaching and advance tactics.

The team finished 11th overall out of eighteen teams from across the state. The overall winner was the US Army Fort Bragg SRT Team. The FCSO SWAT Team showed extraordinary teamwork, dedication and hard work in all competitive events. They hope to improve their standings in 2013 with continued commitment to excellence and vigorous training.
