Captain Todd Smith Retires

Captain Smith began his law enforcement career with the FCSO on August 3rd, 1985 as a Deputy Sheriff. He has served in many areas of law enforcement throughout his career, including Field Services, Executions, K-9 Unit, Training, Civil & Support Services and Investigative Services. Captain Smith served two years as a Forsyth County bus driver from 1980-1982. Captain Smith plans to continue civic service as a volunteer Reserve Deputy.

Captain Smith was instrumental in the implementation of the Sheriff’s Alcohol Field Enforcement (SAFE) while serving in Field Services. This program is similar to the current Forsyth County DWI Task Force. He also earned many achievements in his career to include General Instructor, Driving Instructor and BLET Instructor certificates.
