This week in Summer Reading!

There's no better time to explore your Forsyth County Public Library than in the summer. We have all sorts of programs for kids, teens, and adults at each of our ten libraries. It's fun to travel around to the different libraries, and summer is a great time to do that. Here's just a small sampling of what's happening this week.

We like to keep the love of reading alive for children. In addition to all of our storytimes and music & movement programs, we have a number of special performers presenting children's programs around the county this week. If you can't make it to the WFU Museum of Anthropology's "Hip Bone Connected To" program on Monday at Rural Hall (2 p.m.), you can see it at the Carver Library Tuesday (3:30 p.m.). Meanwhile, Criss Cross Mangosauce brings salsa music to the Reynolda Manor library at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, and again that afternoon at Central. Everyone loves magic, and Fish the Magish will be here for two performances on Thursday--at Clemmons in the morning (10:30 a.m.) and at the Southside branch in the afternoon (3 p.m.). In addtion, the NC Zoo is at Clemmons on Tuesday morning and Mad Science will be at Walkertown Thursday afternoon. Choose any or all of them--library programs are free!

Teens get their own programs at the library. Start your week on Monday making Box Air Cannons in Lewisville (4 p.m.) then follow it up with a concert at Teen Central by local teen grunge band Chaos (6 p.m.). Tuesday at Carver there's a special teen program "Discover" from WFU Museum of Anthropology (3:30 p.m.), or in Kernersville you can make your own Bouncy Balls (4 p.m.). On Wednesday we're making Angry Birds Catapults in Teen Central (3 p.m.) or try out Teen Night at the Reynolda Branch (4 p.m.). On Thursday we're having a gaming tournament in Teen Central (3 p.m.)

On Saturday (the 28th) you can learn just what it takes to write a book that gets published--from someone who knows. Former Young Adult book editor Sarah Jae-Jones shares her experiences with us in Teen Central, Saturday the 28th @ 1:30 p.m. This program is for teens and adults.

Adult programs this week are all about the YUM factor! Kernersville hosts a Summertime Smoothies program for adult foodies on Tuesday at 10 a.m. The Rural Hall library will feature a program on Canning Wednesday at 6 p.m. It's a great time to practice some culinary capabilities!

Be sure to check with any of our ten libraries to discover programs and activities to help enjoy your summer.

Kids and Teens here's a special achievement code for this week: W3SR. Come back each week for a new code and like our Facebook page for even more codes.
