Singing and Dancing with Children Just for the Fun of It

Music and Movement offers children enrichment and delight from 10:30 - 11 am on Thursday mornings. Walkertown Branch offer this venue to promote your child's development in language skills as well as social, physical, and musical skills. In music-related playtime, children and caregivers also discover new ways to bond and interact.

Children like to do their own thing and need to experiment with ways to express themselves. Consequently, a wide range of participation is expected. Some jump right in, singing, dancing, and improvising. Others watch thoughtfully, absorbing the music in their own ways. However your child responds, he's developing musically just by being in the room.

Adults are invited to participate as much as possible, as children notice everyone around them. Whether in a chair, on the floor, or moving and dancing around, adults keep the beat and--increasingly over time--sing along. Children love to hear singing from the voices they know and love so well.

New faces are always welcome. Bundle up and join us in the New Year.
