Bam! Pow! Summer Events for Youth at Walkertown Branch

Summertime brings special events to keep teens and children of all ages reading, laughing, and learning. All programs are free! Call the library at 336-703-2990 or email to walkertownlibrary@gmail.com for more information.

Read to enter prize drawings. Every reader who completes an online summer reading log--480 minutes for kids and teens, three books for adults--will be entered into drawings for Barnes & Noble gift cards worth $25 and $100. What's more, every child under age 13 completing a reading log might win tickets to a Wake Forest University football game. Start any day by registering online and logging the minutes you read or listen. By July 31 (deadline), you may hit eight hours more than once!

Matt Sandbank’s Shadow Factory presents, using shadow puppets, The Legend of Walter Weirdbeard.
What do Weirdbeard and his pirates find in the treasure chest? Come find out. Celebrate your summer of reading with this engaging, funny legend about an Unlikely Library Hero. All ages. No reservations required. Arrive early for a good seat!

Russian Golden Gates Folk Dance Show. Entertaining, authentic glimpse into Old Russia through music, song, and dance. Featuring masterpieces of Russian folklore, this engaging show represents the diversity of the culture, from gently humorous songs to elaborate lyrical suites to pulsating dance numbers.
