Corporal M. Holt and K-9 Reesee Retire
Corporal Holt and Reesee became a team 2010. She was purchased and trained by Corporal Holt, who then donated her services to the FCSO. Reesee maintained certification in narcotics and article searches. Corporal Holt and Reesee performed demonstrations at the Winston-Salem Air Show, civic organizations and schools throughout Forsyth County.
Corporal Holt began his law enforcement career with the FCSO in 1993 as Detention Officer assigned to the Law Enforcement Detention Center (LEDC). He attended Forsyth Technical Community College and graduated from BLET in 2001. During his tenure at the LEDC, Corporal Holt and K-9 Katie worked as a team from 1999 to 2009. Corporal Holt continued his work at the LEDC and was transferred to the School Resource Officer (SRO) Unit in 2002. Corporal Holt and K-9 Katie were the first SRO dedicated team in the state of North Carolina.
Corporal Holt is a certified Field Training Officer and Instructor with Sheriffs’ Education and Training Standards Commission. He holds CPR, First Aid, First Responder, EMS, EMT and Advanced Law Enforcement certifications. Corporal Holt volunteers his time at Piney Grove Fire and Rescue.
Corporal Holt and K-9 Reese will be missed. We wish them the best in all future endeavors.
