"Color Search" Art Exhibit by Tatyana Seamon

Tatyana Seamon is originally from Russia. Most of her adult life she spent in an ancient Russian city of Kostroma on the Volga River where she received her education at the Department of Foreign Languages at the Kostroma State University. Tatyana used to teach English as a second language at the university and was actively involved with the Sister Cities Program. The program allowed her to travel to many sister cities of Kostroma and then to Durham, North Carolina and Durham, England as an interpreter for official delegates and as a chaperone for student groups. For three summers, Tatyana was invited to teach Russian to high school students who participated in Talent Identification Program (TIP) at Duke University in Durham, NC.

During one of her international trips, she and her college students ended up in Black Mountain, NC, where the group worked as volunteers at Ridgecrest Conference center. Tatyana was deeply impressed with the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains and fell in love with the region. In 2000, Tatyana moved to the US to stay and settled down in the small town of Newland with her son and daughter.

Tatyana started taking art classes at the Sawtooth Center for Visual Arts in Winston-Salem in 2010. This show, Color Search is the result of her experimentation with watercolors, acrylic, and mixed media. The Lewisville Branch will be displaying Tatyana Seamon's work during the months of September and October in our auditorium. Please stop by and ask to see her wonderful collection of paintings.
