Do you want to help your community grow healthy food, beautify your neighborhood, and bring people together? Please join Forsyth Community Gardening for the Community Garden Mentor Training! This event will be held:

  • Two Saturdays: March 3 & 10, 9:30 am-4:00 pm on both days
  • N.C. Cooperative Extension (1450 Fairchild Rd., Winston-Salem NC 27105)

In this training, you’ll gain the community organizing skills and basic horticultural knowledge to start and sustain a community garden. You’ll also become part of a network of dedicated garden leaders who share encouragement and support to help all gardens flourish.

The training will be offered in English and in Spanish! Child care is available with advance request to Megan Gregory, Community Gardening Coordinator, at gregormm@forsyth.cc or 336-705-8823.

The Mentor Training is for people interested in providing ongoing guidance to a specific community garden. After the initial training, Mentors are matched with a community garden in Forsyth County of their choosing. To develop their knowledge skills, and networks, Mentors also attend potluck meetings, Sustainable Growing Series workshops, and other horticultural programs offered by N.C. Cooperative Extension.

If you have questions about the program, please contact Megan at gregormm@forsyth.cc or 336-705-8823.
