The Malloy Jordan East Winston Heritage Center, 1110 7th St., will hold a movie showing of the film Glory. The movie will be shown on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 2 p.m.
Glory follows the Battle of Antietam, with Col. Robert Gould Shaw being offered command of the United States first all-African-American regiment, the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. Shaw puts together a strong and proud unit, including a escaped slave and wise gravedigger. The regiment is first limited to menial manual tasks, but fights to earn a place in the heat of the battle.
