Local Author Emily Herring Wilson @ Lewisville Branch
Please join our Creative Writing Group on Wednesday, April 18th as they host award-winning local author, Emily Herring Wilson. Ms. Wilson will be sharing her writing experience and provide helpful suggestions for both new and seasoned writers. Ms. Wilson is the author of several books, including
Hope and Dignity: Older Black Women of the South, based on interviews with older women (she will make suggestions about how to conduct an interview);
North Carolina Women: Making History (she will share how to do historic research);
No One Gardens Alone: A Life of Elizabeth Lawrence (learning to write biography); and
The Three Graces of Val-Kill: Eleanor Roosevelt, Marion Dickerman, and Nancy Cook and the Place They Made Their Own (how to write about a famous person).
Emily is largely self-taught as a writer and enjoys sharing how to become a writer or a better writer based on her own experiences. Ms. Wilson lives and gardens in Winston-Salem.
Please come with the names of one or two of your favorite books and something you have written or would like to write.
