Beary Good Pen Pals

While the Walkertown Branch Library has been closed, our beary favorite volunteer, Crawford, has been thinking of ways he can bring joy to friends and neighbors while keeping a healthy social distance. He started by sitting in the lobby window, ready to wave at any friends who pass by, but last week he had an even better idea:

He wanted to find a penpal.

Well, since Crawford has trouble typing on a keyboard, I searched online for another library pal for him to write to. Luckily, we found one pretty quickly in Portarlington Library, Co. Laois, Ireland!

Crawford was very excited to write his first postcard to Library Teddy, who is currently working from home with his friend, Aoife, but he'll be even more excited when the card from Teddy arrives at Walkertown.

While you're at home, maybe you can write a postcard or a letter to a friend or family member you haven't spoken to in a while. I know I'm inspired to write to my great-aunt when I get home.

Many thanks to Aoife and Library Teddy at the Portarlington Library. You can follow Teddy's adventures on their Instagram page.
