Creating Oral Family Histories

Learn how to record your family's history by using interviewing and recording techniques on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. at the Lewisville Branch. Documenting your genealogy in print is important but we often forget about the oral histories that we pass on from generation to generation. Using today’s widely available recording technology, Grace May, special collections librarian from the North Carolina Collection at the Central Branch, will be on-site to show you how to record your family history through interview techniques and storing audio. What better time to learn how to capture family memories as the holidays approach and as you gather with loved ones.

This program is part of the Forsyth County Public Library’s “On the Same Page” community read choice: “The Personal Librarian” by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray. Registration is not required but doing so enables us to send you a reminder email. To register or for more information, email Sue at deguzmse@forsyth.cc or call the Lewisville Branch at 336-703-2940.
