"Historic Shallow Ford in Yadkin Valley," a book talk with author Marcia D. Phillips

Please join us as the Lewisville Historical Society Presents: "Historic Shallow Ford in Yadkin Valley" - a Book Talk with Author Marcia D. Phillips on Monday, Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Mary Alice Warren Community Center in Lewisville. In partnership with the Lewisville Branch Library, LHS welcomes Phillips who is a local working historian and who currently manages the historical collection of Davie County at the Davie County Library. "Historic Shallow Ford in Yadkin Valley," her most recent title that is published by The History Press, tells hundreds of local stories connected to Shallow Ford, one of the busiest thoroughfares in the area for hundreds of years before slipping out of view. This book, according to Phillips, "allows readers time to revisit this sweet spot on the Yadkin River that shaped local and American history."

Following the presentation, Phillips will be signing copies of "Historic Shallow Ford in Yadkin Valley" that will be for sale. Light refreshments will be available. More information about Marcia D. Phillips can be found on her website.
