"Other Lives of Daniel Boone: a wife, a daughter, and historical commemorators in 20th century N.C."

Please join us as the Lewisville Historical Society Presents: "Other Lives of Daniel Boone — a wife, a daughter, and historical commemorators in 20th Century North Carolina" on Monday, March 13 at 6 p.m. at the Mary Alice Warren Community Center in Lewisville. In partnership with the Lewisville Branch Library, LHS welcomes award-winning author and storyteller Randell Jones to present on this topic in celebration of National Women's History Month this March.

Daniel Boone is America’s pioneer hero. He departed North Carolina, his home for 21 years, 250 years ago in the fall of 1773, and headed for Kentucky with his family. Hear surprising stories of some of the women in Daniel Boone’s life from across the generations, as well as stories of the pioneer spirit and courage of these independent-minded women. Hear also about a century’s worth of efforts—by women, mostly—to pay homage in North Carolina to Daniel Boone and the story of America’s first westward movement as America’s War for Independence began.

Light refreshments will be available. Please be aware that seating is limited for this event.

Jones will sign copies of his publications following the presentation. Find more information about Randell Jones, his titles and a list of North Carolina historical anniversaries in 2023 on his website.
