April's issue of Forsyth County News is out now!

  • County Manager Community Updates: County Manager Shontell Robinson will host a series of community sessions in April to discuss the budget process, tax relief programs, and county resources, with opportunities for residents to ask questions and provide feedback.
  • Baby Ready Boot Camp: Forsyth County Public Health is offering free classes on April 18 to help expectant parents prepare for childbirth and baby safety, with sessions on labor preparation, safe sleep, and car seat safety.
  • Commissioners Update: Commissioners are preparing for budget season following a recent workshop and retreat, with additional budget discussions in April ahead of the proposed budget presentation in May.
  • Author Talk with Virginia Evans: Winston-Salem native and New York Times bestselling author Virginia Evans will discuss her debut novel The Correspondent on April 21 at the Central Library. Registration is required.
  • Health Fair & Naloxone Training: Events at Sedge Garden Community Center on April 14 and April 21 will connect residents with health resources and provide training on reversing opioid overdoses.
  • Weather Preparedness Efforts: Emergency Management coordinated countywide response efforts during a recent tornado warning, highlighting the importance of preparedness and interagency coordination during severe weather events.
  • Other highlights include West Nile Virus Prevention and Denim Day on April 29.
