Explorer Post 975 Wins Camp Grimes “Survival Weekend” Competition

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Explorer Post 975 participated in a law enforcement competition October 11-13 at Camp Grimes in Morganton, NC. "Survival Weekend" is held annually, with competitive events that encompass aspects of physical fitness and law enforcement activities. Cardiovascular fitness was measured by team performance of sit-ups, push-ups, running and other timed events. Law enforcement events included felony vehicle stop training, search and handcuff techniques and overall teamwork.

Explorer Post 975 members trained all year for Survival Weekend. Through teamwork, dedication and physical fitness, they placed first overall for the second year in a row. They placed first or second in every event, only falling below those rankings once. Explorer Post 975 has eight members and defeated much larger local posts. We are proud of their accomplishments and of the continued leadership FCSO staff volunteers to mentor the young men and women of Explorer Post 975.
