Lieutenant Wendy Longworth Retires

Lieutenant Longworth began her law enforcement career in 1987 with the Winston-Salem Police Department. She joined the FCSO family as a Deputy Sheriff in 1988. Lieutenant Longworth has served in many areas of law enforcement throughout her career to include Patrol. Narcotics, Crime Scene, SRO, Gang Unit and Courtroom Security.

Lieutenant Longworth has earned many achievements in her career. She was promoted to Corporal in 2003, Sergeant in 2007, followed by the promotion to Sergeant in 2013. Lieutenant Longworth earned an Advanced Law Enforcement and CICP Certificates, and was a BLET Instructor and Gang Specialist trainer. During her career, Lieutenant Longworth served as a mentor for the FCSO Explorer program, Block Captain for a Community Policing program and FOP Board Member. She also plans to volunteer her time with the FCSO Reserves.

Sergeant Longworth’s knowledge and guidance will be missed and we wish her the best in all future endeavors. Congratulations Lieutenant Longworth!
