Major Elizabeth C. Pritchard Retires

Major Pritchard began her Law Enforcement career in 1985 at the Forsyth County Youth Detention Center. She graduated from BLET in 1986 and was hired full-time at the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) in 1987 as a Deputy assigned to the Law Enforcement Detention Center. Major Pritchard has worked in every division of the FCSO during her career. She is certified as a General Instructor, Specialized Firearms Instructor, Glock and Colt Armorer, Crisis Negotiator and Specialized Less Lethal Instructor. Major Pritchard was the first female promoted to the rank of Major in sheriff’s office history.

Major Pritchard earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice and an Advanced Law Enforcement certificate from the North Carolina Sheriff’s Education and Training Standards Commission. She has also been a mentor to countless young officers throughout her career. Major Pritchard’s extensive experience, guidance and “just peachy” outlook will be missed.
