THIS WEEK IN SUMMER READING

The library is the perfect place for children and families to become empowered to build a better world! This summer’s theme makes use of the universal appeal of creating, repurposing, and building. Through books, games, and many STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) activities, participants will discover new ways of looking at the world around them.

Here’s just a selection of events for the week of June 9th -16th 2017

Clemmons Branch Library

Wednesday June 14th at 2 pm—— Animal Architects presented by the NC Zoo Animals can be amazing architects. Through hands-on animal artifacts, lots of visuals and a live animal or two, we will discover some of the creative ways animals build their homes, nests or community housing. For kids 12 and under.

Rural Hall Branch

Thursday, June 15th at 11 am——Animal Architects presented by the NC Zoo Through hands-on animal artifacts, lots of visuals and a live animal or two, we will discover some of the creative ways animals build their homes, nests or community housing. Ages 3-11. Registration is required, 336 703-2970

Reynolda Manor Branch

Thursday, June 15th at 10:30 am——-Kitchen Chemistry Why does soda fizz? Can two liquids make a solid? Why is chemistry so important? Join us to discover the answers to these questions and maybe even see some cool explosions! All ages.
