Activities abound for kids at tweens this week during Summer Reading

There's something for everyone this week at Forsyth County Public Library branches. These are just a sampling of the more than 40 free programs for children and tweens happening between June 11-18. ABC Summer Reading Bucket List at Malloy/Jordan East Winston Heritage CenterDaily through July 16
Children ages 2-8 will be inspired by the alphabet through Summer Reading. Every day, children can read a short book and do an activity related to a different letter of the alphabet.
Fold and Fun: Origami Hour at Southside Branch Auditorium
Wednesday, June 11 at 2 p.m.
Children ages 6-11 will boost their creativity and focus by learning the art of paper folding to create various shapes and figures.
STEAM for Tweens: Ice Cream Chemistry at Lewisville Branch Library
Wednesday, June 11 at 4 p.m.
Children ages 6-12 will explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math at our monthly STEAM programs.
Police Pals with WSPD at Forsyth County Central Library
Thursday, June 12 at 1 p.m.
Children and tweens will learn about what police officers do and tips on staying safe from Officer K from the Winston-Salem Police Department.
Fun-Film Fridays at Forsyth County Central Library
Friday, June 13 at 2 p.m.
Children and tweens are invited to the Central Storytime Room to watch The Garfield Movie (rated PG).
Paint and Pendulum at Walkertown Branch Library
Saturday, June 14 at 3:30 p.m.
Children and families are invited to a fun paint craft. Learn about gravity, inertia, and other forces while creating one-of-a-kind paintings.
Mondays on the Lawn at Forsyth County Central Library
Monday, June 16 from 10-11:30 a.m.
Children and tweens are invited to a fun morning of library- and self-directed activities exploring arts, innovation, reading, and community.
Kids’ Art Hour at Rural Hall/Stanleyville Branch Library
Tuesday, June 17 at 3 p.m.
Children ages 6-12 are invited to make giant cardboard cupcakes.
