Is an eBook Reader in Your Future?

If you’re shopping this holiday for ebook readers, you might be interested in devices compatible with the Library’s free ebooks. View an up-to-date list from OverDrive.

As part of the North Carolina Digital Library, the Library is proud to offer a growing collection of ebooks in EPUB, PDF, and Mobipocket formats. With the proliferation of ebook readers on the market for the holidays, they are becoming a top-10 gift item! You might want to choose one that’s compatible with our downloadable ebooks. (More devices have been added in the past few weeks, and more are expected over time.)

Browse the downloadable ebook collection at the North Carolina Digital Library website. The collection includes more than 1,100 ebooks and 5,500 audiobooks (in WMA and MP3 formats).

For more information about ebooks, audiobooks, music, and videos that download to your home computer and/or portable device, go to our Downloadable Media page. If you’re shopping for an audiobook MP3 player, be sure you choose one that accepts DRM-protected WMA files. A list is also available from the Downloadable Media page.

Have happy holidays filled with reading in your favorite formats!
